Max Perutz Labs

The Max Perutz Labs are a research institute established by the University of Vienna and the Medical University of Vienna to provide an environment for excellent, internationally recognized research and education in the field of Molecular Biology.

The Perutz hosts 41 research groups from 3 research areas: Mechanistic Cell and Developmental Biology; Chromatin, RNA and Chromosome Biology and Structural and Computational Biology.

In total, 450 people – scientists, students and administrative staff - from more than 50 nations work at the institute. Research at the Perutz is dedicated to a mechanistic understanding of fundamental biomedical processes. By analyzing and reconstituting complex biological systems across different scales, our scientists aim to link breakthroughs in basic research to advances in human health.
