Since 2008, the Vienna BioCenter Amateur Dramatic Club has staged more than 40 productions on campus, from Shakespeare classics to science-themed parodies that reimagine beloved stories through a research lens.

Read the Scene
Laboratories and theaters both change how people behave. In a lab coat, we stand and move one way. In a costume, we stand and move another. Under a microscope, gestures become small and precise. In a spotlight, they become larger and more expressive.
Scientists train for years to communicate clearly with words. But meaning also comes from context: the space someone is in, what they wear, what they hold, and how they move. Club members demonstrate how they use gesture and movement to tell stories, all without words. Choose the phrase that best describes what you see from the list provided. Look for visual cues in costume, props, posture, and the progression across frames.

Sequence 1: Transformation
Science accommodates many definitions of success. People may start from similar positions, but career satisfaction emerges through different outcomes, roles, and measures of achievement.
