This new five-year program (2026–2030) will build on our current VIP2 program and continue to strengthen postdoc training across the campus. VIP3 will offer 16 prestigious three-year fellowships through two international calls, with the first call launching in early summer 2025.
What makes VIP3 special? It’s all about interdisciplinary collaboration. Each fellowship will bring together two research groups on campus, encouraging innovative research across disciplines. Fellows will be supported by a unique three-mentor scheme and have the opportunity to undertake an optional secondment of up to six months. The program is additionally supported by seven associated partners in Europe, the USA, and Asia.
The Scientific Training Unit is excited to continue shaping a vibrant postdoc community at the Vienna BioCenter—and can’t wait to welcome the next generation of interdisciplinary researchers!
