Minister of Education, Science and Research visits Vienna BioCenter

Austria’s new Federal Minister of Education, Science and Research, Martin Polaschek, visited the Vienna BioCenter on 24 March 2022. Stops at the IMP, the Vienna OpenLab, the Vienna BioCenter Core Facilities, and GMI/IMBA provided a good overview on the activities on campus.

Martin Polaschek, who became Austria's Federal Minister of Education, Science and Research only last December, toured the Vienna BioCenter at his first visit since taking office. After a short introduction to the three pillars of the Vienna BioCenter – research, education, and business – he visited the Vienna OpenLab, the VBCF Plant Sciences Facility, the VBCF Next Generation Sequencing Facility, and the GMI roof terrace. Minister Polaschek was very impressed by the extent and quality of the Vienna BioCenter’s activities and expression his appreciation for the campus.
