Studying on the Campus
Teaching is a major activity on the Campus, covering a broad range of training programmes. The University of Applied Sciences (FH Campus Wien), the University of Vienna, and the Medical University of Vienna offer a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses in the life sciences ranging from molecular biology, medicine, biochemistry, genetics, bioinformatics and biotechnology. In addition the IMP, IMBA, GMI, MFPL organise a joint international summer school for undergraduates and the highly competitive CVBC PhD Programme for graduates.
As we attract scientists in new disciplines, there will be opportunities to extend the scope of the undergraduate programs offered at the Campus. This may also require a separate portal to the CVBC PhD programme, to select students with little or no biological background. Such students would work at the CVBC, embedded in biological research groups but may need co-mentoring from faculty at the university (e.g. mathematics, computer sciences, or physics).
The Vienna Biocenter Summer School provides a unique opportunity for 25 undergraduate students to work side by side with leading researchers in a dynamic scientific environment.
